Rest In Peace

I felt back alley today. After a couple of days with the tendon sliding in its sheath like a well poured Guinness slides down my throat, I awoke today and my first step confirmed that I was now gagging back a Coors Light.

Money back.

RC and I still fought the pour. We parked our warm ups at the corner of Dallas and the BHP petting zoo loop. Tempo was all we needed but I didn't nearly get that. Three repeats, one mile each, 5:26 average. 144 on the HR. Not exactly the encouragement I needed to get back into training. Nor, mind you, was the response from my tendon what I was hoping for. It still isn't ready to take miles, not quite tuned to intensity frequency. I'm still at least a week away from full-time training.

On a less sobering note, I had a good (but VERY gentle) night out with Liam and his Lassie at the Irish Times. A fourth joined the fray and no, it wasn't the type that would fill out a double date. Liam, if you're out there and reading this, maybe I'll take you up on the puzzle after all!

That headstone is HILARIOUS.

So, ah, Finlayson....little withdrawal there fellah? Just needed to post something somewhere? Leave poor Liam and his blog alone. You had yours and you let it die.

Good to have you out today, no matter the outcome.

Liam: wicked afternoon session with you today. Like the old days, only faster.
